The Department of Meteorology says several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Central, Uva, Eastern and North-central provinces and in the Hambantota district during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers of about 75 mm can be expected in some places.
The public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
The department added that the weather advisory will be in effect for the 36-hour period ending at 04.00 am tomorrow. (NewsWire)
