Sri Lanka bowler Maheesh Theekshana says that soft ground conditions at the Geelong stadium might be the reason for the number of injuries on the Sri Lanka side during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

“The grass here is very soft, the ball was also not traveling in the field, and we were very careful when running around,” Maheesh Theekshana told the post-match press briefing following Sri Lanka’s victory against the Netherlands today.

Meanwhile, opener Kusal Mendis confirmed that his fellow opener Pathum Nissanka has a concern in his groin.

Pathum Nissanka didn’t take the field when the Netherlands batted and now he will be taken for a scan. (NewsWire)
