Kandy Sports Club (KSC), Sri Lanka’s most celebrated and respected Rugby team today announced that Mastercard, global technology company in the payments and commerce industry, has been appointed as its Title and Payments Sponsor.
This development marks the first time that an international company will be sponsoring the team. Accordingly, Mastercard will act as the title sponsor of the team alongside Cargills, who has been a sponsor since 2013. Rugby is a highly followed sport in Sri Lanka, the second most popular after cricket

KSC is regarded as the most successful Sri Lankan Club to play in the Sri Lanka Rugby Championship, winning 22 league titles in the last 20 years. The team has also won 20 Clifford Cups from 1995 to 2012.
Club Rugby season will commence in early December 2022 for the year 2022/23. KSC will be fielding a youthful and talented team captained by former Trinitian Damith Dissanayake. Meanwhile, former Sri Lanka Rugby Captain Fazil Marija will coach KSC.
