A 39-year-old man has been arrested on charges of having stolen camera equipment, worth over Rs. 500,000 belonging to a private media institution located in Colpetty, Colombo.
The Police said the camera equipment was stolen while members of the media institutions were engaged in some broadcasting work last Friday (02).
Based on a complaint filed yesterday, the suspect was arrested in the Serampathkotuwa area yesterday by officials from the Mount Lavinia Crimes Investigation Unit.
The suspect who is a resident of Deyyandara was found to be in possession of the stolen equipment and has been handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police station.
The suspect will be produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court today. (NewsWire)
