The Department of Meteorology says showers are expected in a few areas today, (14).
The department said showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night.
A few showers may occur in the Eastern province and in the Mullaitivu and Polonnaruwa districts.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
The Met Department further said showers may occur at a few places in the sea areas around the Island.
Stating that winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph, it added that the sea areas around the island will be slight. (NewsWire)
