A Police Constable has been interdicted by the Sri Lanka Police for behaving in an unruly manner during a musical show at Galle Face in Colombo on 28th December 2022.
According to the Daily News, the Police Constable had been on day duty the previous day and had attended the musical show along with his colleagues during off duty on the same night.
He had been intoxicated and had climbed onto the stage during the performance of a musical band, after which he had assaulted two Police officers on duty who had attempted to remove him from the stage in the early hours of Wednesday.
The Police Constable who is attached to the Boralanda Police Training College was arrested following the incident and produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
The court has released the suspect on bail and the case is due to be taken up for hearing on 13th January 2023. (NewsWire)
