Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekera has filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over the attempt by a group to contest the local government elections using his forged signature.
Speaking to reporters today, MP Jayasekara said that the group had handed in nominations to contest the Dehiwala- Mount Lavinia Municipal Council under the SLFP’s hand symbol and had forged his signature.
He further said that the nominations handed in are fake documents and also contain his forged signature.
Stating that no group from the SLFP is contesting under the Dehiwala- Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, he requested the area residents not to be misled by such fake contestants.
The SLFP General Secretary today filed a complaint with the CID requesting for a probe to be conducted into the matter. (NewsWire)
