Batticaloa District MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam has urged the public to hoist black flags in protest of the planned 75th Independence Day Celebrations in Sri Lanka.
Speaking to the media yesterday, MP Rasamanickam said a protest has been organized in Batticaloa to voice objection to the planned Independence Day celebrations.
MP Shanakiyan said that black flags will be hoisted in Batticaloa to show their displeasure over the Independence Day celebrations.
He further requested the public to join the protest by hoisting black flags in front of their houses to protest against the political leaders who ruined the country.
MP Shanakiyan pointed out that the President had informed that he will resolve the issues faced by the Tamils prior to the next independence day, but is yet to do so.
Stating that the protest is being held for this reason as well, the MP said that the location of the protest will be notified later. (NewsWire)
