The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board (AAIB) has announced the introduction of a new insurance scheme for mineworkers.

Issuing a statement, the AAIB said that miners will be issued an annual Accident insurance. 

The AAIB further states that miners will be provided with concessional insurance premiums, compared to those offered by other insurance companies. 

The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board is introducing the insurance scheme due to the life risks miners face and the decline in the number of miners. (Newswire)
