Kuwait has resumed normal air traffic operations following the temporary closure of its airspace earlier today, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed.

According to a report by Gulf News, the DGCA said operations returned to normal after the situation that prompted precautionary measures eased, with Kuwait International Airport now functioning on approved schedules.

The authority noted it continues to monitor developments around the clock in coordination with relevant agencies inside and outside Kuwait to ensure the highest levels of safety and security in the country’s airspace.

It added that any new developments will be assessed immediately, with appropriate measures taken as required.

Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding passengers and air navigation safety, the DGCA urged travellers to rely on official channels for the latest updates.

Earlier, Kuwait temporarily closed its airspace and diverted flights as a precaution amid regional tensions following Iranian strikes, while Kuwait Airways also suspended all flights during the disruption period. (Newswire)

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) officially announced the reopening of the country’s airspace and all commercial airports, effective immediately, in a major step toward normalizing national operations. 

The announcement was made by the head of the authority, Bengin Rekani, who confirmed in a statement received by IraqiNews that “airspace and all Iraqi airports will be opened starting today.” 

This decision marks the end of a weeks-long suspension that had effectively grounded commercial travel across the country as a precaution during the regional conflict. (Iraqi News)
