A university student has been reported missing while bathing in the seas off the artificial beach at Colombo Port City on Thursday.

According to the Police, the missing student is a 24-year-old resident of Gampaha.

The incident had occurred when students from the Colombo and Moratuwa universities visited the area and went snorkelling.

Thereafter, the Lifeguards at the site had recovered the snorkelling gear of the missing student. 

A joint search operation was launched by the Police and the Navy. The Colombo Harbour Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
