Asahi Dyes and Chemicals Sri Lanka has officially commenced operations at the Biyagama Export Processing Zone, marking a significant new investment in the country’s manufacturing sector. 

The US$ 20.4 million venture brings advanced Japanese manufacturing technology together with Italian innovation through Tonello, creating 281 direct jobs for Sri Lankans.

According to the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI), the facility has been constructed to LEED v4 green building standards, underscoring its commitment to sustainability. 

BOI described the project as a powerful example of the nation’s growing appeal as a high‑value, sustainable manufacturing hub, reflecting investor confidence in Sri Lanka’s industrial future. (Newswire)
