India is hosting the first-ever Asian Buddhist Summit (ABS) in New Delhi, under the theme, “Role of Buddha Dhamma in Strengthening Asia.” 

The two-day event, which commenced on Tuesday (Nov 05), is organized by the Ministry of Culture and the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC). 

According to Indian media, the summit celebrates the deep-rooted Buddhist heritage in India and underscores its role in promoting peace and unity across Asia.

The summit aims to explore how Buddha’s teachings can address modern challenges and contribute to the spiritual growth of the region. The event is also a reflection of India’s Act East Policy, which focuses on the inclusive, collective, and spiritual development of Asia.
