A 30-year-old man was reported dead after being shot by unidentified gunmen in the Badowita area in Mount Lavinia last night.

The Police said the victim had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital. 

The victim has been identified as a resident of the Badowita area.

Preliminary Police investigations suggest a T-56 weapon may have been used to carry out the shooting.

The suspects involved in the shooting are yet to be identified. The Mount Lavinia Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
