Colombo’s Lotus Tower successfully completed Sri Lanka’s highest international base jump event for the second time from May 12th to 14th, 2024.

Adventure enthusiasts leapt from a height of 350 meters, making a total of 188 jumps from the iconic structure.

The event attracted base jumpers from around the world and highlighted the tower’s prominence in the adventure sports community, the Lotus Tower management said. (Newswire)

A foreign national has sustained injuries after participating in the base jumping activity at the Colombo Lotus Tower today, it was reported. 

According to media reports, the foreigner had been injured following parachute failure when base jumping off the Lotus Tower.

The injured foreigner, identified as a national of the USA, has been admitted to the Colombo General Hospital and is undergoing treatment. (Newswire)
