Brandix served as the Main Partner for Day 01: Social of CATALYZE 2026, reinforcing its commitment to placing people at the heart of sustainable progress.

Hosted by the UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka on 24 June 2026 at Courtyard by Marriott, Colombo, CATALYZE 2026 convened business leaders, practitioners, and change makers to explore how organisations can advance sustainability with greater purpose and impact. The opening day focused on the social dimension of sustainability, including human rights, gender equality, inclusive workplaces, and community resilience.

A key session during the summit explored the evolving role of leadership in creating inclusive workplaces, including the role of men in advancing inclusion. Representing Brandix, Taiyoob Ahamed, Senior General Manager – Marketing, shared perspectives on moving inclusion beyond policy into everyday practice.

“Culture is not built through statements alone. It is shaped by the choices leaders make every day, the behaviours they encourage, and the environments they create for people to succeed,” he noted during the discussion.

For Brandix, and Sri Lanka’s apparel industry, people form the foundation of every product, every partnership and customer relationship. Customers and stakeholders look beyond what businesses produce to how they operate — through ethical practices, safe workplaces, inclusive cultures, and meaningful contributions to society.

As Main Partner for CATALYZE 2026: Social , Brandix was proud to support a platform that brought together diverse voices to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and inspire meaningful action across industries.

Brandix continues to champion an inclusive culture where more women advance into leadership, employees feel empowered to speak up, diverse perspectives are valued, and people from different generations and backgrounds can learn and grow together.

FUSION APPAREL (PVT) LTD, the joint venture of Brandix signed an agreement with Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment (BOI) with an initial investment worth US$ 1.06 million, aimed to provide a much-demanded, technology-driven manufacture of glue-bonded garments.

According to a company statement, this project further enhances technology learning for the industry and provides 100 employment opportunities.

Looking at today’s technical outerwear, performance wear, and intimate garments, it is easy to see the evolution—innovative performance, enhanced usability features, and increased durability, Therefore, the technology and supply chain plays a crucial role in enabling this evolution.

Fusion Apparel works with major international brands, making it a must to address the growing demand for these global brands. The demand for glue bonding services among BOI export-oriented companies is increasing, prompting Fusion Apparel to strategically invest in this technology-driven venture.

This joint venture will yield unparalleled benefits not only for Brandix and Fusion Apparel but also for the industry as a whole. Brandix has been a leading force in the apparel industry in Sri Lanka for over four decades, serving as a virtual training ground for industry leaders. Brandix consistently develops industry-defining technology and best practices, with Fusion Apparel serving as another significant milestone in this ongoing evolution.

Fusion Apparel introduces glue bonding, a next-generation technology that not only eliminates traditional sewing in garments but also enhances the performance of apparel. By using specialized adhesives, this method ensures seamless finishes, greater durability, and enhanced comfort for wearers. The uniqueness of glue bonding is that liquid glue provides a high level of efficiency and scalability in manufacturing sew-free products. Its consistent application enhances production quality, resulting in better-finished goods. Additionally, glue bonding improves the modulus of base fabrics, making it suitable for a wide range of performance apparel, meeting both aesthetic and functional requirements.

Furthermore, local apparel manufacturers can expand their sew-free product offerings to key markets like the USA through this joint venture. Fusion Apparel will provide comprehensive support—from design and product development to bulk manufacturing—delivering end-to-end execution.

With consumer preferences shifting toward lightweight, friction-free, and clean-finished products made with simple constructions, glue bonding presents a highly effective solution. Its applications extend across various product categories, including intimates and activewear.

The rich brand equity of Brandix always secured the best labels in the global market and capitalized on Brandix’s existing customer relationships in the US, EU, and Far East Asia to introduce these products. Brandix anticipates a total project investment of approximately USD 10 million.

The new technology always enables Brandix’s vision for its ESG framework. As a result, it facilitates the advancement of sustainable leadership, with Fusion becoming part of the sustainable supply chain. Certain raw materials used in this process are either fully or partially sustainable. Additionally, achieving overall energy efficiency during manufacturing leads to energy savings, indirectly supporting sustainability goals.

Fusion Apparel’s core value provides a sustainable competitive advantage for the country, solidifying its reputation as a comprehensive solution provider for customer-centric design thinking. Furthermore, Sri Lanka is positioning itself as a nation with technology-savvy human capital, capable of serving Industry 4.0 and being future-ready. (Newswire)
