The prices of selected food items will be increased by 10% from midnight today, the All Ceylon Canteen Owners’ Association has announced. 

National Organizer of the Association Asela Sampath told the media that the prices of rice packets, Koththu, and Fried Rice will be increased.

He further said that the prices of the selected food items will be increased due to an increase in electricity tariffs.

“The All Ceylon Canteen Owners’ Association did not increase prices of food items during the last electricity tariff increase,” he pointed out.

Asela Sampath said, however, canteen owners cannot continue to operate under such prices under the current circumstances. (NewsWire)
