Major General Kapila Dolage of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers has been appointed as the 67th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.

According to the Sri Lanka Army, Major General Dolage has been appointed with effect from today, 26 June 2025.

He replaces Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, who served as the 66th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army from February 2025.  (Newswire)

Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). 

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, has approved the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera.

Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, effective from February 09, 2025. 

Prior to this appointment, Major General Wickramasinghe served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, and previously as Director General General Staff (DGGS) at the Army Headquarters.

He began his military career after completing basic training at the Indian Military Academy (Regular Intake 87) and the Sri Lanka Military Academy (Intake 31). He was then commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and assigned to the Gajaba Regiment as an Infantry Officer. (Newswire)
