A probe has been launched into the recent collapse of a concrete beam on the Central Expressway between Kadawatha and Mirigama.

The probe was launched by the Road Development Authority (RDA) into the incident which occurred in the Kadaoluwawa area in Bemmulla on Sunday.

Concerns had been raised after the concrete beam, measuring about 35 meters, had collapsed, as there were similar constructions in the area.

According to media reports, the Police have visited the area and conducted preliminary investigations, while sabotage is suspected. (Newswire)
