New appointments have been made to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd (CPSTL), Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera announced today.

Accordingly, Saliya Wickramasuriya has been appointed as the Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd (CPSTL).

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the CPC, Darshana Rathnayake has been appointed as the Managing Director of the CPSTL.

Taking to ‘X’, Minister Wijesekera said that the appointments are effective from today (Oct 05).

The appointments come following the resignation of the former Chairman of both CPC and CPSTL, Uvais Mohamed.

Mohamed is reported to have handed in his resignation letter yesterday citing personal and professional reasons. (NewsWire)
