Train services were affected today due to workers at the Dematagoda Yard withdrawing from duties due to the authorities’ inaction over a missing worker. 

The workers at the Dematagoda Yard have reportedly withdrawn from duties due to their lack of satisfaction with the investigation into the missing person. 

According to the Railway Department, several train services from Colombo- Fort had been delayed or cancelled as a result.

The department further said that the Podi Menike and Badulla Odyssey which were to commence their journeys this morning were unable to operate. 

The Railway Department has warned that several more train services may be delayed or cancelled due to the current situation. (Newswire)
