The historic Ehelepola Walauwa in Kandy is set to open soon as Sri Lanka’s most iconic wax museum, bringing royal history to life for local and international visitors.

The Walauwa has been restored under the stewardship of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Maligawa.

According to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, to mark this milestone, the Pirith chanting and Alms-Giving Ceremony were held over two days, on June 30 and July 01.

The ceremonies were led by the Diyawadana Nilame, seeking blessings from the first Ehelepola Adhikaram and his family, and all who contributed to this remarkable journey. 

The opening date of the wax museum is expected to be officially announced soon. (Newswire)
