The Elapatha Police has launched a probe into the suspicious death of a 25-year-old woman from the Kiriella area in Elapatha last afternoon (27).

The Police stated that the woman was found dead near a stream in the Kiriella area. The deceased has been identified as a 25-year-old resident of the Niriella area. 

The Police had found the body following investigations into a complaint filed by the mother of the woman reporting her missing on the same day. 

The body has been placed at the Ratnapura Hospital for the postmortem examination, while the Elapatha Police is conducting investigations. (NewsWire)
