The statement highlights four dedicated numbers:

• 119 – Police Emergency Hotline
• 1984 – Anti‑Narcotics Hotline
• 109 – Police Women & Child Bureau Help Line
• 1929 – Childline – National Child Protection Authority

The Police stressed that these hotlines are vital for reporting emergencies, narcotics‑related issues, and safeguarding women and children.

The Supreme Court has ruled to dismiss without hearing two fundamental rights petitions filed claiming that the emergency regulations imposed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake after the Cyclone Ditwah disaster violate basic human rights.

Accordingly, the Police have established a Special Operations Room with the following emergency hotlines:

• Email: disasterops@police.gov.lk 

Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Centre has also requested that the public affected by adverse weather conditions contact the centre for assistance.
