The body of a 14-year-old boy, who reportedly died under suspicious circumstances in Nuriyawatte, Deraniyagala was exhumed today (Jan. 12) on the orders of Avissawella Magistrate Pramod Jayasekara.

The boy died on January 2 while at home with his mother and father. Initial investigations by Police raised concerns regarding the cause of death, leading to the arrest of both parents.

Following their arrest, the suspects were produced before the Avissawella Magistrate’s Court and have since been remanded at the Kuruwita Prison.
