The government is considering the establishment of a special unit at the Katunayake Airport to handle information related to flight delays. 

Minister of Aviation Vijitha Herath yesterday visited the Katunayake Airport to look into complaints regarding the delays of flights. 

During the visit, Minister Herath emphasized the need to create a special unit, representing officials of the airport and relevant airlines, at the airport premises.

The special unit, which will operate 24/7, will provide passengers with immediate updates on flight delays and will also provide maximum facilities to passengers during the delays.

Minister Vijitha Herath has also instructed all relevant officials to work to minimise flight delays. (Newswire)
