The Department of Census and Statistics has reported a year-on-year GDP growth rate of 5.5% for the third quarter of 2024.

At constant prices (2015), the GDP for the third quarter of 2024 increased to Rs. 3,151,941 million, up from Rs. 2,987,544 million recorded in the same period of 2023.

The Department noted that the growth was driven by expansions in key sectors.

Agriculture grew by 3.0%, Industry by 10.8%, and Services by 2.6% during the third quarter of 2024. (Newswire)
