A group of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarians, including Prof. G.L. Peiris, have signed an agreement to join the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Alliance. 

SLPP MPs Dilan Perera, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Dr. Upul Galappaththi, Wasantha Yapa Bandara and K P S Kumarasiri are the other MPs who have expressed their support for the SJB.

The six MPs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SJB, which is expected to see the formation of a new alliance, becoming the latest crossover to the SJB to be reported. 

Several Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) MPs, including Shan Wijayalal de Silva, Gamini Thilakasiri and Gamini Silva, were the first few Parliamentarians to voice their support for the SJB this year. (NewsWire)
