Sri Lankan Javelin thrower Sumeda Ranasinghe has established a new national record, qualifying to represent Sri Lanka at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Japan.

Sumeda Ranasinghe threw a distance of 85.78m at the second stage of the National Athletic trials held in Diyagama, Homagama today (09 Mar).
