The group, representing the SJB, UNP and SLPP, is due to be produced before the Galle Magistrate today (31). 

The arrest comes after the group had hurled water bottles toward the officials’ seating area during the committee session, causing a tense situation.

The incident had taken place after opposition members clashed with ruling party members, accusing them of budget election fraud, and protesting the presence of the municipal secretary and officials. (Newswire)
