The Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), SSP S. Muthumala, has been appointed as the Director of the Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women.

According to the Sri Lanka Police, he is among five senior Police officers who were transferred with immediate effect.

The transfers have been issued with the approval of the National Police Commission. 

SSP Shani Abeysekera has been appointed as the Director of the CID, replacing SSP Muthumala. (Newswire)
