A tense situation was reported at the Naththandiya Pradeshiya Sabha this morning during its inaugural session, following heated exchanges between ruling and opposition councillors.

According to opposition members, tensions escalated when National People’s Power (NPP) Parliamentarian Gayan Janaka, who attended the event, allegedly made inflammatory and derogatory remarks directed at them. The remarks reportedly led to a verbal confrontation, prompting opposition councillors to protest.
