A mother of one has been remanded on charges of sharing pornographic content via online in exchange for money, it was reported. 

According to media reports, the woman was arrested on charges of having shared nude videos of herself online to make money. 

The woman was arrested by officials from the Criminal Investigations Department’s (CID) Computer Crimes Division and produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

The court was informed that the woman had shared nude videos of herself with individuals who had deposited money to her bank account, offering her services for a charge of Rs. 1000 per minute.

The CID also informed the court that the woman’s husband is found to have been encouraging the act. 

Following the presentation of facts, Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis ordered the CID to file a charge sheet against the suspect on the next hearing date.
