Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on a three‑day official visit to Sri Lanka, today signed three key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Government of Sri Lanka, strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries. 

The agreements cover the upgrading of L70 anti‑aircraft guns of the Sri Lanka Air Force under an Indian government grant, as well as cooperation between the National Defence Colleges of India and Sri Lanka, and between the National Cadet Corps of both countries.

The agreements were signed after Singh met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this morning, where the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral ties. (Newswire)
