Kaduwela Mayor Ranjan Jayalal has accused two media institutions of conspiring against the National People’s Power (NPP), claiming that his recent fall at an event was also due to the actions of one of these media institutions. 

Speaking to reporters, Ranjan Jayalal said that at the event, while walking forward, he saw one journalist raising the camera cable off the floor, due to which he tripped and fell. 

Claiming that this was a conspiracy, he further said that those two media outlets are working by putting aside their moral ethics. 

“This is a conspiracy. We are a party that has fallen multiple times in the last 04 decades and have always risen. If anyone thinks they can topple us now, we are done falling. We will never collapse again,” he said. (Newswire)

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Trade Union leader Ranjan Jayalal and several others have been prevented from entering several parts of Colombo during a planned protest.

The order has been issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court in anticipation of the protest planned by the CEB United Trade Union Alliance today (Jan 05).

According to the court order, the group is prohibited from entering the Presidential Secretariat, President’s House, Finance Ministry premises, and the Galle Face Green.

The CEB United Trade Union Alliance recently warned of staging a protest against the restructuring and privatization of the CEB. (NewsWire)
