Russian carrier S7 Airlines will open a new international route linking Novosibirsk in Siberia with Colombo, beginning 20 December 2026, according to Aviation Voice Asia.

The service will provide a direct air link between Siberia and Sri Lanka, giving Russian travelers easier access to Colombo and popular island destinations such as Hikkaduwa, Bentota and Trincomalee.

Flights will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays.

Departures from Tolmachevo Airport, Novosibirsk are scheduled at 5:15 am (Thursdays) and 5:00 am (Sundays), arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport at 1:40 pm.

Return flights from Colombo will leave at 2:50 pm on the same days, reaching Novosibirsk at approximately 2:15 am the following day.

The total journey time is expected to be around 10 hours, including a technical refueling stop in Jaipur, India, where passengers will remain onboard.

S7 Airlines has announced that tickets for the new route are already on sale, marking the airline’s latest expansion into South Asia. (Newswire)
