Vehicular movement has been disrupted in Borella due to a section of the road sinking on the route entering Colombo between the Borella Model Farm Junction and the D.S. Senanayake Junction.

According to the Police, drivers heading toward Colombo are advised to use alternative routes where possible.

The recommended alternative routes are as follows:

• Vehicles entering Colombo via the Model Farm Junction can proceed toward the Kanatta Roundabout and access Baseline Road.
• Vehicles coming from Rajagiriya toward Colombo can enter via Ayurveda Roundabout and continue along Kotta Road.
• Vehicles travelling from Colombo toward Sri Jayawardenepura via the Model Farm Junction can turn left at the D.S. Senanayake Junction, pass through Borella Junction, and enter Sri Jayawardenepura Road via Kotta Road. (Newswire)

A sinkhole has been reported on Galle Road near W.A.Silva Mawatha Junction in Wellawatte restricting traffic movement. 

According to the Police, motorists coming towards Colombo are advised to use Marine Drive as an alternate route. 

The Police further said that vehicular movement on Galle Road towards Colombo has been hampered as a result of the sinkhole. (NewsWire)
