Two women have been arrested in connection with the gold-coloured T-56 rifle that was found at an apartment of the Havelock City housing complex in Colombo yesterday.

According to the Police, one of the suspects was arrested on charges of possession of the weapon last afternoon.

The suspects are aged 40 and 68 years old and are residents of Battaramulla and Colombo-06. They are to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court today.

The Wellawatte Police is conducting further investigations into the matter. (Newswire)
