The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has reminded taxpayers that the deadline for submitting income tax returns for the Year of Assessment 2025/2026 is November 30, 2026.

Issuing a notice to taxpayers, the department urged those required to file income tax returns to ensure their submissions are completed by the specified deadline.

Taxpayers seeking further information or clarification regarding the submission of income tax returns can contact the Inland Revenue Department through its hotline, 1944.

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has launched a street survey to identify taxpayers and ensure proper tax collection. 

The survey, launched on Tuesday ( 27 Jan), is being carried out across Colombo areas 1 to 15.

Special teams from the department are participating alongside State Minister Nishantha Jayaweera.
