Two men have been apprehended for trespassing into ‘Temple Trees’ in Colombo, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, under the influence of alcohol, it has been reported. 

According to Daily News, the men had scaled the walls of ‘Temple Trees’ and entered the premises after following Google Maps for directions to their residence.

The men had trespassed into the state property while returning to their residence on Muhandhiram Road in Colombo after consuming alcohol at a bar in Colpetty.

Following Google Maps for directions, the two men had scaled the walls of Temple Trees under the assumption that their residence was on the other side of the wall.

Upon entering the Temple Trees premises, they were taken into custody by the officers of the Prime Minister’s Security Division and were handed over to the Colpetty Police.

The two men aged 28 years, a software engineer and a merchant seaman, have been released on Police bail and are set to be produced in court on March 14, 2024. (NewsWire)
