A Sri Lankan British schoolboy in the United Kingdom (UK), Maxim Pathirana, has published his first-ever novel at the age of 15.

Born in London, Maxim discovered his passion for writing at a very early age. When the COVID-19 lockdowns confined children to their homes, Maxim channelled his creativity into writing a novel.

Inspired by his love for the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ series, he penned ‘The One They Have to Fear’, completing it in primary school.

Maxim is now a secondary school student, and his teachers have encouraged him to continue his literary journey.

He has already begun working on the second installment of the series, which is currently in progress.

In this video, he describes his passion for writing, challenges, and his advice to aspiring writers. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHmuG2TbAsU)

‘The One They Have to Fear’ is available to order on Amazon and in bookshops worldwide. (Newswire)
