Acclaimed Sri Lankan guitarist Viresh Cooray has been officially endorsed as a Fender Artist by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, becoming the first guitarist from Sri Lanka to receive this recognition. The endorsement places Viresh among an elite international roster of musicians associated with one of the world’s most iconic guitar brands.

The partnership was mediated by Mike Audio (Pvt) Ltd, the official distributor for Fender in Sri Lanka, who facilitated the connection between Viresh and Fender Musical Instruments Corporation USA. To mark the occasion, Viresh was presented with a Fender American Ultra II Stratocaster HSS a flagship instrument from Fender’s premium American-made line.

Viresh is best known as the lead guitarist and a front line vocalist of Daddy, one of Sri Lanka’s leading bands. Over the past 21 years, Daddy has built a devoted following with a string of hit singles and original songs that have become household favourites across the country and beyond. With more than two decades in the industry, Viresh has developed a tone that is instantly recognisable to audiences island wide, and is today regarded as one of Sri Lanka’s finest guitarists.

The Fender endorsement is a natural progression for a guitarist whose sound has long been built on the brand. Viresh has played Fender Stratocasters throughout his career, on stage and in the studio, making the American Ultra II Stratocaster HSS a fitting new addition to his rig. A certified audio engineer and an endorsed artist with several international music brands, he brings a rare combination of performance and technical expertise to the partnership.
