Showers and thundershowers are expected across Sri Lanka today, with Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, along with Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Hambantota districts, likely to experience intermittent rainfall, the Department of Meteorology said.

Showers may also occur in other regions during the afternoon or night.

Some areas, including Eastern and Uva provinces and several southern districts, may see heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm. Wind speeds of 30-40 kmph are expected in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and North-Western provinces.
