Those who facilitated the air parade of the newly leased aircraft around Colombo will also face interrogations in the future, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa said. 

“Those who authorised the spending for the 10-year-old aircraft to fly thrice around Colombo will also have to answer questions tomorrow,” he said. 

According to the Lankadeepa newspaper, the SLPP national organizer said he will extend his support for all investigations, adding that his family has not done any wrong.

Further commenting on the recent hike in fuel prices, at a time when global fuel prices have reduced, MP Rajapaksa questioned who was benefiting from the commissions. (Newswire)

SriLankan Airlines has welcomed the new Airbus A330-200, the first wide-body aircraft to arrive in the country in 8 years. 

The newly acquired Airbus A330-200, bearing the registration 4R-ALT, arrived in Colombo today (04 June).

The Airbus A330-200 landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake from France. 

Marking its debut with a flypast over the Colombo coastline, the aircraft received a ceremonial water salute upon arrival at the Katunayake Airport. (Newswire)
