Two men were arrested after the Police had found an internationally manufactured weapon concealed in the SUV they were travelling in. 

According to the Police, the weapon was found during an inspection of the SUV in Yatawatta in Matale District yesterday. 

During the vehicle inspection, conducted by officers from the Yatawatta Police, a 09 mm internationally manufactured weapon was found concealed in the vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle, aged 39 and 44, who are residents of Narammala and Kurunegala, were taken into Police custody.

The Yatawatta Police is conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
