The bodies of the two teenagers who had died by suicide after jumping into the Polgolla reservoir in Kandy this morning, have been recovered.
The father of one of the two teenagers has revealed the two youths were reported missing since last evening.
The father of the boy told the media that the family had filed a complaint with the Katugastota Police this morning after the children were reported missing from yesterday.
He further said upon being notified of their whereabouts, he had arrived at the railway bridge in Katugastota.
The two teenagers had jumped together into the reservoir while hugging each other, while he was in mid- conversation with his son, he added.
They have been identified as a 17 year-old boy and 16 year- old girl from the Nawayalatenna area.
The Police suspect that the two individuals, who are grade 10 and 11 students, had died over their love affair. (Newswire)
