18 Election Campaigning rules you should know

The National Election Commission has issued regulations on election campaign activities conducted in view of the General Election scheduled for 05 August.

The Commission has highlighted 18 main regulations, including the prevention of candidates or members of their families from conducting door to door election campaigning.

Processions have been prohibited from the date of submitting nominations and during the 7 days that follow the releasing of the election results. However, religious observances will be allowed during this period and cannot be held in view of the election.

Door to door election campaigning by supporters of candidates too has been restricted to maximum 3 persons.

Meanwhile, a special operations centre has been established by the Police to monitor activities relating to the General Election.

The Police said the public can contact the centre with regard to information on the election or to report incidents on the violation of the election law.

The Police have urged the public to contact the centre via the hotlines 1933 or 0112 47 2757.
