A female Sergeant from the Nugegoda Division 04 Police Department in Homagama has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Police said the woman had contracted the virus from her son, who had served as an instructor at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre.
The man is said to have tested positive for COVID-19 following the recent outbreak at the rehabilitation centre.
The Police said a total of 35 Police Officers serving at four units at the Nugegoda Division 04 Police Department in Homagama have been placed in quarantine as a precautionary measure.
09 Police officers and 04 Civil Security officers have been sent to the Habaraduwa quarantine centre, while 13 Police officers and 05 Civil Security officers have been placed at the Attiditiya quarantine centre, the Police added. (Newswire)
