Sports Minister visits national badminton player Oshadi Kuruppu at Apeksha Hospital

Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa today visited Sri Lanka badminton player Oshadi Kuruppu who is undergoing treatment for Leukemia at the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama.

Oshadi Kuruppu, who is a student of Visaka Vidyalaya in Colombo, won the women’s team silver medal at the 12th South Asia Games in India.

Doctors have stated that Rs.10 million will be required for Oshadi Kurppu’s treatment.

A private bank account has been opened for the public to donate money for Oshadi’s treatment and has been circulated on social media.

During his visit, Minister Rajapaksa had informed Oshadi’s parents that measures will be taken to provide the remaining required funds with the involvement of private firms in the country.
