The Urban Development Authority (UDA) has commenced a program to construct middle class housing complexes with an aim to enable youths to purchase their dream houses.

Approximately 5000 houses will be built for middle- class families under this Government development project.

The public will be able to purchase the houses under loans with an interest rate of 6.25%, for the first time, for a period of 30 years.

A minimum payment will have to be made to reserve the desired house.

The houses will be constructed in the Colombo, Kandy, Anuradhapura, Peliyagoda, Kottawa, Pannipitiya, and Malabe areas.
